One aspect of the invention relates to a method for optimizing illumination in a junction region () between a plurality of vehicles (--) emitting a light beam (--), comprising ·Estimating a time interval in which each vehicle (-A-) will be in the junction region (); ·Estimating the illumination in the junction region () at any given time in the estimated time interval; ·If there is a region of overlap () in which the estimated illumination corresponds to superposition of a plurality of light beams (--): *Determining, via communication between the plurality of vehicles (--) and on the basis of a set of parameters that are each relative to the consumption of one vehicle (--), at least one action to be taken by a vehicle (--) on its light beam (--); *Taking each determined action in the junction region ().
