In an energy supply unit for an electrically driven mobile work machine, in particular a counterbalance forklift truck, wherein the energy supply unit (1) can be inserted as an exchangeable unit into a battery receiving compartment of the work machine and has a cuboid-shaped housing (4), within which all components of the energy supply unit (1) are located, a plate-shaped additional weight (9) is removably arranged via fastening means on at least one wall surface (10) of the housing (4), wherein the additional weight (9) is dimensioned such that the energy supply unit (1) has essentially the same total weight as a lead-acid traction battery of the same external dimensions.
