The invention relates to a shunting drive (5) for a trailer (1), with - a drive device (6, 6') comprising a drive motor and a transmission device (7, 7') coupled to the drive motor for transmitting a torque of the drive motor to a wheel (4, 4') of the trailer (1); - a fastening device (8) for fastening the drive device (6, 6') to the trailer (1); and - an electrical energy storage device (9) for supplying the drive motor with electrical energy; wherein - the electrical energy storage device (9) can be arranged on the outside of the trailer (1) and can be coupled to the drive device (6, 6'); - wherein the electrical energy storage device (9) is arranged at or within the drive device (6, 6').
