Wheel (1) for a cycle comprising a rim (3) and a tire (2), in which: the rim comprises an upper bridge (31) and at least one left lateral flange (321) issuing from the upper bridge and extending radially outward, and comprising a stop (37) such that the left lateral flange and the stop delimit a left groove (341) having an opening width (a) and a cavity extension (c) greater than said opening; the tire comprises an envelope (21) and at least one left bead (61) which has a greater extension (d) greater than the width (a) of the opening, a thickness (e) less than (d); the thickness (e) of the bead is less than or equal to the width (a) of the opening; the cross-sectional area of the bead (St) is less than the cross-sectional area of the groove (Sg); and the bead has a transverse modulus of between 50 and 2000 MPa.
