Warning triangle device

A warning triangle device (100) with a surface (112) attached to a chassis (110) for receiving a graphic design of a warning triangle according to a StVO specification, by means of which information regarding necessary assistance can be automatically transmitted to distant information receivers, is provided in that the chassis (110) houses a sensor (130) for sensing an activation of a seat belt pretensioner of a motor vehicle located within a specifiable radius, as well as a GPS unit (140) determining a respective current geographic position, together with a transmission unit (150) and an electronic control device (151) driving the transmission unit (150), which is designed to use the sensor (130) to activate the transmission unit (150) upon detection of an activation of a seat belt pretensioner for transmission of data regarding a current geographic position.
