A warning triangle device (100) with a surface (112) attached to a chassis (110) for receiving a graphic design of a warning triangle in accordance with a regulation of the StVO, by means of which information regarding necessary assistance can be automatically transmitted to remote information recipients, is created in that a sensor (130) for sensing an activation of an airbag of a motor vehicle located within a specifiable radius, as well as a GPS unit (140) determining a respective current geographic position, together with a transmission unit (150) and an electronic control device (151) driving the transmission unit (150), are housed in the chassis (110), which is designed to activate the transmission unit (150) with the aid of the sensor (130) upon detection of an airbag activation in order to transmit data regarding a current geographic position.
