A warning triangle device (100) with a surface (112) attached to a chassis (110) for receiving a graphic design of a warning triangle according to a StVO specification, by means of which information regarding required assistance can be automatically transmitted to remote information receivers, is created in that a pulse sensor (130) for sensing a collision of a second motor vehicle with a first motor vehicle, a GPS unit (140) determining a respective current geographic position, together with a transmission unit (150) and an electronic control device (151) driving the transmission unit (150) are housed in the chassis (110), which is designed to use signals from the pulse sensor (130) to activate the transmission unit (150) upon detection of a collision of a second motor vehicle with a first motor vehicle to transmit data regarding a current geographic position.
