ROOF SYSTEM FOR A VEHICLE

The invention relates to a roof system for a vehicle (1) having a fixed roof (2) with a roof opening (3) that may be closed by roof panel (4). The roof system including a pair of parallel guide rails (9) and at least one transverse guide rail (8) extending at an angle to the pair of parallel guide rails (9). Further including operating mechanisms (10) for each of the guide rails (9), each operating mechanism including a front mechanism (20), a tilting mechanism (24), and a locking mechanism (62) for locking the tilting mechanism (24). And wherein the parallel guide rails (9) each slidably supporting the front mechanism (20) and the tilting mechanism (24), and the at least one transverse guide rail (8) slidably supporting the locking mechanism (62) of each respective operating mechanism (10).
