Method and device for injecting a gaseous medium

The invention relates to a method for injecting a gaseous medium, in particular a gaseous fuel, into an intake tract (1) of a gas or diesel-gas engine using an electromagnetically controlled gas valve (2). According to the invention, the gaseous medium is injected into the intake tract (1) via at least two throttle points (3, 4) connected in series in order to increase the flow velocity. Furthermore, the invention relates to a device for injecting a gaseous medium, in particular a gaseous fuel, into an intake tract (1) of a gas or diesel-gas engine, comprising an electromagnetically controlled gas valve (2) which has a valve plate (5) with at least one flow opening (6) that can be opened or closed via the stroke of a reciprocating valve plunger (7). According to the invention, downstream of the flow opening (6), at least one throttle point (4) is integrated into the flow path of the gaseous medium in order to increase the flow velocity of the gaseous medium.
