Trailer for a route train having a front trailer section and a rear trailer section, which are connected to one another via a portal-like arch, forming a receiving area for at least one internal wagon, wherein a lifting device is provided on the front trailer section and/or the rear trailer section, wherein the lifting device has three lifting positions, of which in a first lifting position the internal wagon is raised in the trailer for transport, in a second lifting position the internal wagon is insertable into the receiving area from each side up to a stop, and in a third lifting position is pushable out of the receiving area on both sides.
