Driver assistance device for a motor vehicle with a device for detecting traffic signs and a vehicle speed limiting device

The present invention relates to a driver assistance device for a motor vehicle, wherein the motor vehicle comprises a traffic sign monitoring device as well as a speed limiting device, which limits the driving speed of the motor vehicle in a speed limiting mode to a limit value. The driver assistance device is configured to automatically adjust the respectively applicable limit value in the speed limiting mode as a function of a prescribed maximum speed determined by the traffic sign monitoring device, provided that no manual change of this limit value is made by the driver.
