Manoeuvring drive with monitoring module

The drive has drive units (24) assigned to wheels (16) of a trailer (10) and adjustable between an inactive state and a maneuvering state. The drive units are not in intervention with the wheels in the inactive state and are in intervention with the wheels in the maneuvering state. A controller comprises a monitoring module to monitor a state parameter and to produce a warning (S) e.g. sound signal and vibration signal, if the drive unit is in the maneuvering state and when the state parameter indicates that the trailer is moved by a towing vehicle. The state parameter is a signal of a drawbar box (40) or a switching-off signal of a remote controller (32).
