Storage area expansion

The device has a tailgate (1) swingably supported at a lower side of a motor car, so that the tailgate is pivoted in a horizontally open position. A roller blind (2) is extended and fixed in the open position of the tailgate so as to limit a loading chamber (3) over the tailgate. A stand (4) is high-swiveled from recesses to the tailgate for guiding the roller blind from the tailgate, and a transverse strut (6) is high-guided from one of the recesses in the tailgate for connecting upper ends of the stand from the tailgate.
