Tailgate for motor vehicle

The motor vehicle tailgate (4) is pivoted on hinges (5). The tailgate has a main hinged panel and a secondary panel (8) movable with respect to the main panel between a closed position on the main panel and an open position separate from the main panel. In the open position, the main panel forms a thinner tail gate. The secondary panel can be pivoted to the outer face of the tailgate.
