The method involves controlling compressed air flow in a pneumatic network (2) by discharging whole compressed air that is not consumed by the pneumatic network towards a gas exhaust nozzle (34) through a variable opening depending on air pressure supplied to the pneumatic network. A load compressor (10) is operated at a specific point irrespective of air flow rate requested by the pneumatic network. An air generation command of the compressor corresponding to one of opening or closing positions is utilized for controlling opening/closing position of an inlet of the network. An independent claim is also included for a system for controlling compressed air supply to a pneumatic network.
