The device (100) has an electrical storage mechanism (45) which is designed to store electrical energy. A power switching device (55) is connected to the electrical energy storage mechanism and distribution network (40), and is designed to switch on and off an electric energy flow between the electrical energy storage mechanism and the distribution network. A control device (50) is designed to control the electrical energy flow based on variable criterion and to change the power consumption profile of the distribution network.
