Heat shield and a method for construction thereof

The invention relates to a heat shield (150) and a method for construction of the heat shield (150). The heat shield (150) has a first heat shield segment (160) with a first axial portion (220) and a second heat shield segment (170) with a second axial portion (230). The first heat shield segment (160) is a first segment and the second heat shield segment (170) is a second segment of the heat shield (150) respectively. A sealing means (180) comprising a thermally expandable portion (190) couples the first heat shield segment (160) and the second heat shield segment (170). The coupling is accomplished by adapting the sealing means (180) to receive the first axial portion (220) and the second axial portion (230). The thermally expandable portion (190) expands based on an ambient temperature of the heat shield (150).
