Motor vehicle undercarriage component

The chassis component (1) has an extruded base profile (2) which is made of light metal, and reinforced by a reinforcing profile (8) made of steel. The base profile has two extending walls (3,4) which are arranged with a spacing (a). The reinforcing profile is provided to connect the free ends (9,10) of the walls to an area (6) of the base profile. The joint between reinforcing profile and base profile is carried out by electromagnetic forming magnetic pulse welding.
