The device (10) has a galvanic cell (14-1) i.e. lithium ion cell, and an operating management system (16) for monitoring and controlling of electrical operating condition of the device and for monitoring a representative temperature of the device. The management system is designed to control electrical operating condition such as charging current and/or discharge current of the device in dependence of the temperature. Anode temperature sensors (58-1, 58-2) and cathode temperature sensors (56-1, 56-2) measures the temperature of anode and cathode of the device, respectively. An independent claim is also included for a method for monitoring and controlling electrical operating condition of an accumulator.
