The method involves determining environment of a motor vehicle (1) using an environmental sensor. A prediction is established using data from the environmental sensor to determine existence of a moving object in the environment of the motor vehicle. The semi-automatic driving function is stopped, when a moving object exists in the environment of the vehicle. The semi-automatic driving function is in low speed range. The moving object is a pedestrian. An independent claim is included for a driver assistant system.
