Industrial truck with at least one lithium-ion battery

The truck has a controller area network (CAN)bus, for receiving data and control signals of a vehicle control system (18). A battery i.e. lithium ion battery (10), includes a battery controller that monitors an operating mode of the battery and sends the monitored data of battery to the control system of the truck over the CANbus, where the battery controller monitors voltage, temperature and current of the battery. The battery controller includes a supplementary balancing unit that produces an equal voltage for single lithium ion cells (12) of the battery.
