BATTERY ELECTRIC VEHICLE

A battery electric vehicle configured to use an electric motor as a driving power device includes a controller configured to control the battery electric vehicle, and a shifter. The controller is configured to switch between an automatic mode and a manual mode in accordance with a driver's operation of the battery electric vehicle, the automatic mode allowing the battery electric vehicle to drive as a normal battery electric vehicle, the manual mode allowing the battery electric vehicle to simulate manual transmission driving by receiving a virtual shift operation from the shifter, and, in the manual mode, switch regenerative braking force of the electric motor in accordance with the virtual shift operation.
