Drive device for driving a wheel for an electric vehicle

The drive device (11) has an electric machine (12) and a single-stage or multi-stage planetary gear (13) switched on output side of the electric machine in the traction mode in power flow direction. The electric machine is designed as internal rotor with a rotor (14) designed as hollow shaft or as external rotor with a stator (15) designed as hollow shaft. The planetary gear is arranged inside the electric machine in the hollow space of the rotor or the stator. The planetary gear is arranged axially visible on the side of the wheel hub (21) averted from the wheel (7).
