The device has a bolt (30) moved between a locking position and an unlocking position of a steering-column. An electric motor (10) drives the bolt between the unlocking position and the locking position. The bolt is mounted in a manner to guide the steering column along a direction parallel to the steering column. The electric motor has an output shaft, a worm (15) arranged on the output shaft and a sprocket (20) in which the screw of the output shaft of the motor is engaged. An independent claim is also included for a rotation assistance module comprising an assistance motor for applying pivoting force to the steering column.
