Electric anti-theft system for locking/unlocking a steering column

Source
The device has an inverted L-shaped bolt for occupying blocking and releasing positions of a steering column. An electric motor controls displacement of the bolt in the blocking and releasing positions. A lock i.e. shuttle (40), occupies a locking position in which the lock maintains the bolt in the blocking position of the steering column. An elastic interposing member e.g. flexible blade (50), is released in response to physical attack of the antitheft device so as to be interposed in a path of the lock and to prevent the lock from leaving the locking position.
