Theft protection method for an automobile

The method involves stopping an engine of a motor vehicle during detection of an intrusion of the motor vehicle, and temporary and automatic unlocking of an anti-theft device (1) from a lock steering column (2) of the motor vehicle. Determined automatic rotation of the steering column of the motor vehicle is carried out with respect to a locked position of steering wheels (5). The anti-theft device is automatically locked on the steering column, in the locked position of the steering wheels.
