May 23, 2012
The method involves detecting a narrow region (5) in a predetermined distance to a vehicle (1) by a camera (3). The detection is made to check whether an object (7) lies within the narrow range. A lying region (9) within the predetermined distance is detected by distance sensors (11), where the sensors are ultrasonic sensors, radar detectors, infrared sensors or light detection and ranging (LIDAR) sensors. A portion of the lying region within the predetermined distance is detected, where the object moves into the portion of the lying region. An independent claim is also included for a device for detecting environment of a vehicle during parking into a parking space.
