Acoustic decoupling in vehicle chassis
DRIVE
November 30, 2011
Vehicle chassis comprises a wheel supported by a shock absorber, which is fixed between the chassis and the vehicle body, and is provided with a spring device and a cushioning device for springing and cushioning the body movements, in which at least a connection between the vehicle body and the shock absorber, exhibits an acoustic cushioning material. The acoustic cushioning material exhibits an acoustically effective internal friction and is arranged such that a direct transmission of impact sound between the chassis and the vehicle body is avoided.
