The internal combustion engine (1) has multiple cylinders (4), an inlet valves (5) and outlet valves (6), where the inlet valves and the outlet valves are formed for controlling load changeover process of the cylinders. A valve train (7) is provided for actuating the inlet valves and outlet valves, where the valve train has a double camshaft (10) for actuating the outlet valves. An independent claim is also included for a method for operating an internal combustion engine.
