The engine has a cylinder (1) with two inlet valves (21, 22) and two outlet valves (31, 32), where the cylinder includes two inlet ducts (11, 12) provided from a common inlet (13). The inlet ducts are opened at the respective inlet valves. The inlet valve (22) is opened at a predetermined delay with respect to the inlet valve (21). The inlet valves are closed at the same time. An independent claim is also included for a procedure of managing an operation of an internal combustion engine.
