In a vehicle equipped with an automated manual transmission, when creep driving is started in an idling state, an idling speed PID control unit of an engine ECU selectively uses an arithmetic constant for the PID control appropriate for the creep driving, so that the occurrence of a hunting phenomenon of an engine speed is suppressed when a clutch is locked up, particularly owing to a quick decrease of an integral term of the PID control.
