The invention relates to a brake control apparatus for controlling braking applied to wheels (Wl-W4) of a motor driven vehicle to decelerate the vehicle, comprising, a braking force generator (B1-B4) for generating a braking force applicable to the wheels, a failure detector (12) for detecting a failure of generating the braking force on at least one of the wheels, and a controller (13) for changing an actually obtainable degree on the vehicle in accordance with the detected failure.
