Airbag module

The airbag module (10) has a housing (12) with a bottom section connected to a side wall (18) which in its turn is connected to a cover flap (16). The separation lines (26) along which the housing opens when the airbag deploys extend over the cover flap, side wall and/or bottom section so that after deployment the housing breaks apart into several not directly dependent segments (12a-12d), each of which comprises a part of the cover flap, side wall and bottom section.
