The beam unit for the front of a motor vehicle comprises a support element and a bumper carrier which are produced as a single-piece plastic unit (1) with at least one seating for at least one bumper cover (5). Independent claims are also included for: (A) a method for producing the proposed beam unit; (B) an application of the proposed beam unit to a commercial vehicle with a total weight in excess of 3500 kg.
