The trailer tow-bar comprises a tow-hook (4) which can swivel from a storage position in a housing (2) to a position of use. A manual or electrical drive (5) cooperates with a bearing (9) on the inner end of the tow-bar and an adapter (10a, 10b) connected to it fits into a mounting (20) on the housing when it is in use. The adapter is mounted on both a vertical (15) and a horizontal (19) axis.
