The trailer coupling comprises a ball (1) attached to the vehicle tow bar and a socket (2) attached to the trailer coupling which fits over this and is pressed against it by a mounting (3) on the vehicle tow bar (10). The socket fits into a towing eye (4) on the trailer tow bar and is detachable.
