June 29, 2005
The engine has two bypass valves mounted in respective corresponding bypass branches and controlled by respective bypass valve regulators (39, 40). A tilting block (54) is provided to select one bypass valve for controlling inlet gas pressure, according to operation parameters of an engine. One of the branches is provided on a compressor and the other branch is provided on a turbine. An independent claim is also included for a method for controlling boost pressure of inlet gas provided to an internal combustion engine.
