The gas generator is for the inflating of an airbag by a gas flow from a compressed gas vessel sealable by a destructible sealing element. An aroma substance is added to the gas stored in the compressed gas vessel in order to fill the airbag with a mixture of the gas and aroma substance. The gas generator is a hybrid or cold gas generator.
