The flap valve (1) can turn about a turning axis (7). The flap valve has a first region (8) which extend radially on one side of the turning axis in the longitudinal direction of the axis; and the second region (9), which is at an angle to it. At least a part of one side of the second region is sealed to the resting surfaces when the valve is closed.
