Process and system for controlling an air charged compression ignition combustion engine for a vehicle
DRIVE
March 30, 2005
The method involves mapping a magnitude representing ability of a diesel engine (1) to suck air or a flow/voltage characteristic of a flow meter measuring flow of fresh air supply of the engine. Parameters representing measured/corrected flow and measured/corrected supercharged pressure of engine are quantized. The parameters are controlled on respective set point value corresponding to control strategy of the engine. An independent claim is also included for a device for controlling the operation of a diesel engine of a motor vehicle.
