Airbag module for a passenger safety system

Air bag module comprises an air bag (12) having at least one outlet opening (20), and a module cover cap (14) having at least one section (16) which swings open on inflation of the air bag. The outlet opening is formed in a region lying opposite the open section of the covering cap when the air bag is inflated. Preferred Features: The open section has a hinge region (18) made of plastic. The outlet opening lies opposite the hinge region.
