Method and device for controlling the speed of the valves of an internal combustion engine
DRIVE
December 29, 2004
The method involves controlling pressure of a fluid, during a final phase of closure of a valve (2) in a hydraulic actuator (17). A speed of impact of the valve is detected during a closing phase, and the pressure of the fluid from an oil collection tank (7) is temporarily increased, during the final phase of closure of the valve. The actuator is temporarily isolated from the tank during the closure of the valve. An independent claim is also included for a device for controlling a speed of impact of valves in an electro-hydraulic actuation unit of the valves of an internal combustion engine.
