Trailer coupling

The device has a ball neck (10) on a holder (30) fixed to the vehicle that carries a coupling ball (12) on its end opposite the holder and a drive with which the neck can be moved out of an operating position (A). The device has a sensor for generating a trailer presence signal, a controller for the drive that polls the at least one sensor and blocks movement of the ball neck if a trailer presence signal exists.
