Night vision system

The night vision system is configured so that it can be adjusted by an operating element that can be used to switch at least one operating mode of a headlamp of the motor vehicle and at least one operating mode of the night vision system. The at least one operating mode of the headlamp is dipped and/or main beam and the at least one night vision system mode is the off state. Independent claims are also included for the following: (a) an operating element for a night vision system (b) and a method of operating a camera-supported night vision system in a motor vehicle.
