Process for preparation of a fuel-air mixture for direct starting of a combustion engine

The method involves repeatedly switching off the engine when in a defined operating mode under the control of an electronic operating controller and starting it again with direct starting. A defined quantity of fuel is fed into the internal combustion engine by direct or indirect fuel injection during each switch-off phase when in the defined operating mode.
