Method for operating a direct injection internal combustion engine

The method involves providing an injector of a fuel system, which is actuated for injecting a fuel quantity into a combustion chamber during injection duration. The injection valve for injecting the fuel is actuated to perform partial stroke operation. Independent claims are included for the following: (1) computer program stored in computer readable storage medium for operating direct combustion engine; and (2) control and regulation device for fuel injection system.
