Device and method for indirectly detecting a temperature of a predetermined spot of an internal combustion engine
DRIVE
May 14, 2003
The device has a sensor (7a,7b) for measuring a component temperature mounted on the internal combustion engine, further sensors for direct or indirect detection of engine revolution rate, fuel injection quantity, charging air temperature and cooling water temperature and a controller for determining the temperature at the defined point from the component temperature and the other input parameters. AN Independent claim is also included for the following: a method of indirectly determining a temperature at a defined point of an internal combustion.
