Camera with infrared filter for improving the visibility in a motor vehicle

The arrangement has an infrared radiation source (1) for illuminating the vehicle's surroundings, an infrared sensitive camera (2) for detecting at least part of the illuminated surroundings, an infrared filter (5) and a display for representing the image information recorded by the camera. The filter has areas with different transmission characteristics, at least one transmissive for visible light or parts thereof.
