Navigation device

The navigation device has a display unit for outputting a route and for representing objects in the vehicle's surroundings. The route and at least some of the objects in the vehicle's surroundings adjacent to the route are represented accentuated in relation to other objects in the vehicle's surroundings. A map display is used to show objects in the vehicle's surroundings and the route.
