Twist-beam axle and method of making the cross-beam

The axle has cords (5a, 5b) and a closing sheet (3) formed on a cross-piece (2) by welding. The assembly of the cords and the sheet defines a hollow body extending parallel to axle from the cross-piece. The cross-piece and the closing sheet are driven in torsion by two longitudinal arms composed of components on left and right side. The cross piece presents in its upper plane part a housing (2a) formed by the sheet. Independent claims are also included for the following: (a) a vehicle comprising a flexible axle (b) a method for fabricating a flexible axle.
